M-RISE (Multifamily Retrofit Initiative for Sustainability and Equity)

This program is led by New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (NJBPU) and administered by Resource Smart. Once fully launched, it will provide multifamily property owners with technical assistance and robust financial incentives for comprehensive building upgrades, including high-efficiency heat pumps, building envelope improvements, ventilation upgrades, electrical panel and wiring modernization, and efficient appliances.
Program Benefits
Income-qualified multifamily properties in New Jersey with five or more units will be able to get rebates up to $30,000 per unit —with an average of $10-15,000— for energy-efficient upgrades, including:

□ Weatherization
□ Water Heating
Our experts will identify energy-saving opportunities at your existing property. You choose what energy-efficient equipment to install, and we help you secure rebates for your project.
- Income-qualified owners and managers of garden-style (2-3 stories), mid-rise (4–7 stories), and high-rise (8+ stories) multifamily apartment buildings
- Properties interested in exploring rebates and technical assistance for heating/cooling systems, insulation, windows, appliances, and electrification
